Christian Women's Job Corp is a ministry of the WMU to provide a Christian context in which women in need are equipped for life and employment in a missions context in which women help women.
The most important element of CWJC is to have a mentor for each student. A mentor is a spiritually mature Christian woman who is willing to meet once a week with a student for prayer and Bible study. A covenant is created between student and the mentor. The following are 8 key elements of CWJC:
A mentor is assigned to each one to be mentored. Covenants are signed that include the expectations and goals of both the individual and the program. The students participate in Bible studies. CWJC networks with the community agencies, businesses and churches to provide the needed resources. Needs assessments are conducted to evaluate the needs of the individual as well as the needs and resources of the community. Advisory councils serve as a sounding board to strategize for the most effective ministry. Each site coordinator has received national certification training. Ongoing evaluation of the student's progress is reviewed in order for goals to be reached.
Please pray for the CWJC and for women to become mentors.
