Thank you for navigating to our Community Outreach page, where we feature just about every month a different ministry that is doing great work in and around the neighborhoods of Tampa / Hillsborough County.
The Tampa Bay Baptist Association is committed to coming alongside our churches; and in addition to our partnership with our churches, we have also partnered with the following ministries:
  • BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministries)
  • Cook's Hat (a ministry of Mission Tampa – Seminole Heights BC)

Welcome Bags Needed: BCM Summer Ministry Project

We invite our TBBA churches to join us in coming alongside a longtime ministry in Tampa, the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) at the University of South Florida for a summer ministry project.  Every August the BCM passes out "welcome bags" to the new students to introduce them to the ministry.   The BCM mission statement is.... "BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS THAT MATTER.....We are a community with a purpose. A place where college students come together to ask questions, explore who Jesus Christ is and search for something bigger than themselves...something that's beyond their busy worlds of homework, stress, work and ideas of success. From our weekly worship experience, to intramurals, to trips that take you halfway around the world, we are a passionate community that journeys through life together. " In 2017 the BCM Reached 3,225 total students -- 850 International Students - 210 students in Bible Studies - 50 involved in Missions - 10 Salvations.

We are encouraging each welcome bag to look exactly like this:
  • Each Quart size zip-lock bag or party favor bag includes one each of the following:
  • Granola bar; hard candy (no chocolate), chewing gum, highlighter; pencil with eraser, pens, sticky notes, index cards. No tracks or church info cards, please, thanks).
The TBBA needs the welcome bags no later than Monday, August 13, 2018.
